History

Location
They are located in the Ananthagiri Hills of the Araku Valley, in the Eastern Ghats, about 90 km from Visakhapatnam
Formation
Borra Caves are mainly made of limestone. Over millions of years, water from the Gosthani River and groundwater slowly dissolved the limestone and formed the caves. This process created beautiful rock formations called stalactites
Special Features
Inside the caves, the rock formations have unusual shapes that people compare to objects and figures such as Lord Shiva and Parvati, a mother and child, a crocodile, and a human brain. A small shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva is also associated with the caves. I Incredible India
